It is sometimes said that every dog has his day, and that is a fact. According to the law of karma everyone gets a chance to take their turn being a powerful, successful materialist either in this lifetime or in one of many millions of other lifetimes. But that success is always fleeting and temporary. Therefore instead of hankering for success and happiness in this material world we should focus instead on attaining the supreme platform of success and happiness from which having attained no one ever falls down again to material existence.

I am speaking of the transcendental platform of pure devotional service, which qualifies us to enter Lord Krishna's transcendental abode, Krishnaloka.

Let's Get Out of the Cycle of Birth and Death by Surrendering to Krishna

Every time Mahavishnu exhales, the countless material universes come into being. And when He inhales they are all destroyed. In this way for all of eternity there is an broken cycle of creation and annihilation of the material universes, which constitute the material world.   The living beings who have not qualified themselves to return to Krishna's kingdom enter into the body of Mahavishnu in a dormant state during the period of annihilation and again come out and resume their karma in the next creation.   Since if we do not surrender to Krishna, we remain perpetually caught up in this material existence, we should take very seriously the process of surrendering to Krishna and guru in this lifetime and get out of the cycle of birth and death as soon as possible. Krishna's Rasa Dance

 

This is not like any worldly dance wherein people try to satisfy their material senses. While the gois live as cowherd maids, they embody the highest expression of the soul's love for God, for pleasing the Lord is their exclusive aspiration.

This dance represents the most perfect intimacy between the soul and God, free of any tinge of selfish desire, but charged with the fullest bliss. On this night, when Krishna called them from their homes with the sweet song of His flute, the gopis forsook everything they had and risked dangers and social rejection all to satisfy the Lord.

When they reached Krishna, the Supreme Lord, He admitted that in the span of creation, He had no power to sufficiently repay the gopis for their devotion. But in reciprocation, He expanded Himself to dance simultaneously with each gopi in their eternal spiritual bodies, for a night of endless joy.

கொல்ல வந்த காளை

கிருஷ்ணனுக்கு ஆயிரம் நாமம். விஷ்ணு அம்சம் இல்லையா! சஹாஸ்ரனாமமுடையவர் அல்லவா கிருஷ்ணன்! பீஷ்மர் அம்புப் படுக்கையில் படுத்தபடி வானத்தைப் பார்த்துக்கொண்டு மேகங்களையா எண்ணிக்கொண்டிருந்தார்? கிருஷ்ணனின் நாமங்களையல்லவா சொல்லிக் கொண்டு வந்தார். கிருஷ்ணனுக்கு கேசவன் என்று ஒரு பெயரும் உண்டு. அதை விவரிக்கு முன் கிருஷ்ணனைக் கொல்ல கம்சன் எடுத்த மற்றொரு முயற்சியை கொஞ்சம் பார்ப்போமா?

கம்சன் எப்படியாவது தேவகி பெற்ற எட்டாவது மகனைக் கொல்லவேண்டும், அவன் தன்னை கொல்வதற்கு முன் என்ற வெறியுடன் தான் பூதகியை அனுப்பினான். கம்சன் எண்ணம் ஈடேற வில்லையே! அவள் மாண்டாள். அடுத்து என்ன செய்வது என்று தலையைச் சொரிந்துகொண்டிருந்தபோதுதான், அறிஷ்டன் என்கிற அரக்கனின் நினைவு கம்சனுக்கு வந்தது. கூப்பிட்டனுப்பினான். விவரம் சொல்லி "கோகுலம் செல் எப்படியாவது அந்தச் சிறுவன் கிருஷ்ணனைக் கொன்று விட்டு, வெற்றியுடன் திரும்பி வா" என்று அனுப்பினான்.

அறிஷ்டன் யோசித்தான். "கோகுலமோ நிறைய கோபர்கள் வசிக்கும் இடம். பசுவை பராமரிக்கும் கோபாலர்கள் உள்ள இடத்தில் ஒரு மாடு போல் சென்றால் யாரும் தன்னை கண்டு பிடிக்கமுடியாதே. அந்த கிருஷ்ணன் பயல் யார் என்று தெரிந்து ஒரு மாடாகவே சென்று அவனை தீர்த்துக் கட்டுவது சுலபமாயிற்றே.சந்தேகமே வராதே" என்று முடிவெடுத்தான்.

எதிரே ஒரு மலை அசைவது போல் ஒரு காளை. திமில் முதுகில் அசைய கண்கள் சிவந்து ஹூங்காரம் செய்துகொண்டு கூரான கொம்புகளை நிமிர்த்திக்கொண்டு ஓடிவந்தது கண்ட பசுக்களும், மற்ற காளைகளும் ஓரம் கட்டின. கோபால சிறுவர்கள் "யாருடையது இந்தப் பொல்லாத காளை நமது ஊரில். இவ்வளவு கோபமான வெறிக்காளை! புதிதாக அல்லவோ இருக்கிறது?" என்று கவலைப்பட, அறிஷ்டன் அனைவரும் “கிருஷ்ணா கிருஷ்ணா, "காப்பாற்று எங்களை" என்று கத்திகொண்டே அந்த சிறுவன் இருந்த இடம் வருவதைப் பார்த்துவிட்டான்.

"ஓஹோ! இவன் தான் கிருஷ்ணனா? இன்று தொலைந்தான்". காளை தன்னை நோக்கி வருவதைப் பார்த்துவிட்டான் கிருஷ்ணன். எதிரியை நோட்டம் விட்ட அறிஷ்டன், தலையைச் சாய்த்து, கொம்புகளினால் தரையைக் குத்தி பள்ளம் பண்ணினான்.
அவனது முன்னங்கால்கள் மண்ணைத் தோண்டின. கண்ணிமைக்கும் நேரத்தில் ஒரே பாய்ச்சலில் கிருஷ்ணனை நெருங்கிவிட்டான் அறிஷ்டன்.

காத்திருந்தது போல் தக்க தருணத்தில் அரிஷ்டனின் இரு கொம்புகளையும் லாகவமாக கிருஷ்ணன் அவனை ஒரு உலுக்கு உலுக்கி, அவனை 18 அடிகள் பின்னோக்கி தள்ளினான்.விழுந்த அறிஷ்டன் சுதாரித்துக் கொண்டு கடுங்கோபத்துடன் மீண்டும் ஒரு கத்தலுடன் கிருஷ்ணனை நோக்கி ஓடி வந்தான். இந்தமுறை கிருஷ்ணனின் பிடியிலிருந்து அவன் கொம்புகள் தப்பவில்லை. கோபம் கொதிக்கும் கண்களையுடைய அறிஷ்டன், கிருஷ்ணனை உற்று நோக்கி, அடுத்த கட்ட கொலை முயற்சிக்குத் தயாரானான். இதைக்கண்டு கிருஷ்ணன் அறிஷ்டனிடம் சொன்னான்.

"ஏ முட்டாள் காளையே! ஏன் வீணாக இந்த ஒன்றுமறியாத கோபாலர்களை விரட்டுகிறாய் மிரட்டுகிறாய். அறிஷ்டா! காளை உடலில் புகுந்துகொண்டிருக்கும் உன்னை எனக்கு நன்றாகவே தெரியும், இன்றுடன் முடியப்போகும் நீ உன் வேலைகளையெல்லாம் நன்றாகவே காட்டலாம். உன்னை மாதிரி அசுர அரக்க ஜன்மங்களை முடிக்கவே நான் ஸ்பெஷலாக வந்திருக்கிறேனே" என்று சொன்னதைக் கேட்ட அறிஷ்டன் ஒருகணம் நிதானித்தான்.

அவன், அரக்க குணம் மேலிட, பெரிய சப்தத்துடன் மீண்டும் கொம்புகளை நீட்டிக்கொண்டு கிருஷ்ணனை குடல் உருவ ஓடிவந்தான். இந்தமுறையும் கிருஷ்ணன் தயாராக இருந்த தனது பலம் மிக்க கைகளால் அவன் இரு கொம்புகளையும் பிடித்து அலாக்காக அவனைத் தூக்கித் தரையில் அடித்தான். தன் கால்களால் அவன் வயிற்றில் உதைத்தான். நுரை தள்ளி, நிலை குலைந்து, நகரமுடியாமல் அறிஷ்டன் தொபீலென்று விழுந்து திணறினான்

அப்பவும் அவன் சீற்றம் குறையாததால், கிருஷ்ணன் அவன் கொம்புகளில் ஒன்றைப் பிடுங்கி, அதன் கூர்மையாலேயே அவன் உடலைக் கிழித்து வதம் செய்தான். ரத்தம் சொட்டச் சொட்ட, கொஞ்சம் கொஞ்சமாக, சில கணங்களில் அறிஷ்டன் கதை முடிந்தது. நாமும் கதையை முடிப்போம்.

Srimad-Bhagavatam Glorifies
Sri Chaitanya Mahaprabhu

 

 

Srimad-Bhagavatam (11.5.32) has foretold the prema avatara of

Krishna in the form of Sri Chaitanya Mahaprabhu. Bhagavatam

glorifies this most loving avatara of the Lord as follows:

“In this age of Kali, intelligent persons perform congregational

chanting to worship the incarnation of Godhead who constantly

sings the names of Krishna. Although his complexion is not

blackish (His complexion is the colour of molten gold and therefore

His name is Gauranga), He is Krishna Himself. He is accompanied

by His associates, servants, weapons, and confidential

companions.”

Develop Love for Krishna

Srila Prabhupada explains in his purport to Srimad Bhagavatam 4.12.42 that the first principle of devotional service is adau gurv-asrayam, to take shelter of a spiritual master. He states, "In the beginning one must accept a bona fide spiritual master, and if a devotee follows strictly the direction of the spiritual master, as Dhruva Maharaja followed the instruction of Narada Muni, then it is not difficult for him to achieve the favor of the Lord.

The sum total of devotional qualities is development of unalloyed love for Krishna. This unalloyed love for Krishna can be achieved simply by hearing about Krishna. Lord Caitanya accepted this principle -- that if one in any position submissively hears the transcendental message spoken by Krishna or about Krishna, then gradually he develops the quality of unalloyed love, and by that love only he can conquer the unconquerable."

This concept is unique to Vaisnava theology, that one can conquer the Supreme by love. And this process of conquering the Supreme begins by taking shelter of the bona fide spiritual master.

சாமியார் விஜயம்

இன்றைய கதை நிறைய பேருக்கு தெரிந்திருக்காத ஒன்று என்று அடித்து சொல்லலாம். ஏன் எனக்கே இன்று தான் தெரிந்தது உடனே அதை உங்களிடம் சொல்லாவிட்டால் எங்கே என்தலைவெடித்து விடப்போகிறதோ என்று தலையின் மேல் உள்ள ஆசையாலோ பாசத்தாலோ தான் கதை உங்களுக்கு கிடைத்திருக்கிறது.

கோகுலத்தில் அன்று “ஜே ஜே” என்று கூட்டம். வாயிலில் எல்லா வீட்டிலும் தோரணம். தெருவெல்லாம் பெரிய பெரிய கோலங்கள். எந்த வீட்டில் என்ன விசேஷம் என்று தெரியாதபடி எல்லார் வீட்டிலும் மகிழ்சிகோலம். ஊரே சந்தோஷ வெள்ளத்தில் திளைத்து கொண்டிருக்கிறது. மேள தாளங்கள் வாண வேடிக்கைகள், பெண்கள் சேர்ந்து இசை கோலாட்டம், கும்மி, கேளிக்கைகள். ஆண்களில் பலர் கூட்டம் கூட்டமாக பாடிக்கொண்டு கூத்தாடிக் கொண்டிருக்கிறார்களே. இன்று என்ன விசேஷம் என்று ஊன்றி கவனித்தால் நந்தகோபன்வீட்டில் தான் கூட்டம் அதிகமாகவே காண்கிறது.

காரணம் என்னவென்றால் ஒரு குட்டிப்பயல் பிறந்திருக்கிறான் அந்த வீட்டில். ஊருக்கே செல்லம் அவன். அவனுக்கு பெயர் சூட்டு விழா என்பதால் வேத கோஷங்களும் மந்திர ஒலியும் வானை பிளக்கிறது. மந்தமாருதம், மெல்லிய பனிச்சாரல் போன்ற மெல்லிய மழை தூற்றல், இடையிடையே சுகமனான சூரிய வெப்பம், பறவை பசுக்கள் கன்றுகளின் இடைவிடாத அற்புத சப்தம். காற்றில் ஒவ்வொரு வீட்டிலிருந்தும் வரும் இனிப்பு பலகாரங்களின் மூக்கை துளைக்கும் வாசம். “இது கைலாசமா வைகுண்டமா” என்று நம்மை நாமே கிள்ளி பார்க்க தோன்றும் ஆனந்த நிலை.

எண்ணற்ற பேர் காத்திருக்கிறார்கள் குழந்தையை காண. இது யார். ஒரு நீண்ட நெடிய ஆஜானுபாகுவான புலித்தோல் அணிந்த உடல் நெற்றி பூரா வெள்ளிய திருநீறணிந்த, உருத்ராக்ஷ கமண்டல ஜடாதாரி. அவரும் குழந்தையை காண காத்திருக்கிறாரே. ரோஹிணி உள்ளே சென்றாள் . “யசோதா, யாரோ ஒரு சாமியார் கூட வந்திருக்காரடி, பார்க்கவே ரொம்ப பயமாக இருக்கிறதே”.

“ஒரு வேளை பிள்ளை பிடிக்கிற சாமியாரோ?” உள்ளே விட யோசனையா இருக்கே!!”.
“அதெல்லாம் இல்லை, விடேன்.வந்து பார்க்கட்டுமே”.
“குழந்தை பயந்து போய்ட்டான்னா?”

குழந்தை இதற்குள் வீல் என்று அழுதது. முரண்டு பிடித்தது. யார் கையிலும் தங்கவில்லை. சமாளிக்க முடியவில்லை. நந்தகோபன் வேகமாக அருகில் வந்தான். “வழி, வழி”, குழந்தைய சூழ்ந்து கொள்ளாதீர்கள் கொஞ்சம் காற்று வெளிச்சம் விடுங்கள்”. தூக்கி வைத்துகொண்டான். மேலும் அதிகமாக கத்தியது. “சரி கொஞ்சம் வெளியே எடுத்து போய் வேடிக்கையாக எதையாவது காட்டு.அழுகை நிற்கிறதா என்று பார்ப்போம்” என்றார் ஒரு பெரியவர். இன்னும் சுரம் மேலே போனதே தவிர அழுகை நிற்கவில்லை.

“யாரோ ஒரு ரிஷியோ முனிவரோ யோகியோ ஒரு பெரியவர் நிற்கிறார் அவரிடம் விபூதி வாங்கி தடவு” என்றாள் ஒரு பாட்டி. ரோகிணி குழந்தையை வாங்கிகொண்டு சாமியாரிடம் சென்றாள். சாமியாருக்கு மட்டற்ற மகிழ்ச்சி. குழந்தையை இரு கைகளிலும் வாங்கி இடி இடியென்று சிரித்தார் ஆனந்த சிவ தாண்டவமாடினார் குழந்தை அழுகையை சட்டென்று நிறுத்தினான். பொக்கைவாய் சிரிப்பு அனைவரையும் மயக்கியது. தனது சிறு கைகளால் சாமியாரின் ஜடையை பிடித்திழுத்தான்.

அனைவரும் சிலையாயினர் ஏன் ஆகமாட்டார்கள்? ஹரியும் ஹரனும் ஒன்றல்லவா? இருவரும் ஒருவரை ஒருவர் இணைபிரியாதவர்களாயிற்றே! ஹரி கிருஷ்ணனாக பிறந்தது தெரிந்து, அவனை பார்க்க ஹரன் ஆவலாக வந்ததை தெரிந்து ஹரி அழுது ஆகாத்தியம் பண்ணி வெளியே வந்து ஹரனை கட்டி தழுவி மகிழ்வதில் என்ன ஆச்சர்யம்!!

ரெண்டு பேரும் எப்படிப்பட்டவர்கள்!!. ஒருத்தர் தன்னை பக்தியுடன் புகழ்ந்து வேண்டினால் யோசிக்காமல் வரங்களை வாரி வழங்குபவர். எத்தனை அசுரர்கள் ராக்ஷசர்கள் அப்படி தவமிருந்து சிவனிடமிருந்து வேண்டிய எல்லா வரங்களையும் பெற்று அவற்றை துஷ்ப்ரயோகம் செய்தவர்கள். மற்றவர் அப்படி தவறாக அந்த வரங்களை பயன்படுத்துவோரை சாமர்த்தியமாக தண்டித்து, அழித்து தர்மத்தை நிலை நாட்டுபவராச்சே!
