Cow Protection Awakens

 

our Love for Krishna

Because the cow is very dear to Krishna, lovingly taking care of them helps us to awaken our love for Krishna.

I pity the poor materialists, who ignorantly kill the cows and eat their flesh. They are unaware of the future that awaits them. Just as they are mercilessly killing and eating the animals, they will also be mercilessly killed and eaten by the same animals that they have tortured. In this connect, it is stated in the Vedic wisdom:

māṁ saḥ khadati iti māṁsaḥ.

"I am now eating the flesh of an animal who will

some day in the future be eating my flesh."


This means that you become what you eat. Therefore

the devotees only eat Krishna prasadam and nothing

else. In this way, they regain their original spiritual

identities in the spiritual world upon leaving their

present bodies.
