Krishna Is the Cause of
All Creation and Destruction

Sage Markandeya saw the child on the banyan leaf inhaling the whole universe and then expelling it. However, he was bewildered by that form, because though it had the form of infant Krishna, it also carried out the functions of creation and destruction of the universe.

He was later told by Brahma that the form was functioning as the Supersoul of all jivas, the master of the universe. Markandeya understood from Brahma that Krishna was the source of all things in the universe.
