Doubling the Love for Krishna

Srimati Radharani has a very sublime method for doubling her Krishna consciousness bliss. She simply looks upon the beautiful smiling face of her beloved Lord Krishna.

We can do the same thing because the deity of Krishna and the painting of Krishna, if viewed with devotion, are Krishna Himself. Here is what Radharani has to say in this regard as quoted in the Chaitanya Caritamrita, Antya Lila 17.59:

“If I do not think of Krishna, my impoverished mind will die within a moment like a fish out of water. But when I see Krishna’s sweetly smiling face, my mind and eyes are so pleased that my desire for Him redoubles”.

Since Radharani has been gazing upon Krishna for all eternity, doubling her desire for Krishna, with each gaze, we cannot even begin to imagine how heavily she is desiring Krishna. From Radharani’s sublime example, we learn that if we turn our attention to Krishna, we will reap the most sublime reward of wanting to fully give ourselves to Krishna.
