Sri Chaitanya Mahaprabhu:
Bhagavan and Bhagavatam
in Person and in Sound

Lord Sri Chaitanya Mahaprabhu, the Father of the Congregational Chanting of the Holy Names of God
Lord Sri Chaitanya Mahaprabhu, the Avatar of Sri Krishna in the Kali yuga, appeared as a great devotee of the Lord Sri Krishna in order to preach to the people in general, as well as to religionists and philosophers, about the trasnscendental position of Sri Krishna, the Primeval Lord, the cause of all causes. He left only 8 slokas of His instructions in writing, and they are known as Siksashtaka. All other literatures of His divine cult were extensively written by the Lord’s principal followers, the six Goswamis of Vrindavana, and their followers.

We give below the first sloka as given by the Lord:

The First sloka from Sikshastaka:

Glory to the Sri Krishna sankirtana, which cleanses the heart of all the dust accumulated for years and extinguishes the fire of conditional life, of repeated birth and death. This sankirtana movement is the prime benediction for humanity at large because it spreads the rays of the benediction moon. It is the life of all transcendental knowledge. It increases the ocean of transcendental bliss, and it enables us to fully taste the nectar for which we are always anxious.
